Project Engineer - Agency Approvals

We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer - Agency Approvals to join our team.

Purpose

Maintain existing approvals and secure new approvals for product construction changes, consistent with company product development and implementation plan time-tables. Prepare documents, which provide evidence of compliance to requirements established in the world-wide market, for the sale of Alliance products.

Position Responsibilities:

Primary duties:

  • Obtain and maintain product safety approvals (electrical, gas, steam, pressure, thermal, mechanical, and E.M.C.) from national, state and municipal authorities as required by regulations.
  • Create and submit technical reports in the formats prescribed by various agencies.
  • Obtain quotes, review invoices and maintain expense logs for each project and agency.
  • Maintain a Standard and Regulation library as required by agencies and in accordance of Alliance's quality policy for design input, verification and qualification.
  • Coordinate required agency tests and visits with Product Engineering Managers. Schedule visits by agency engineers as required by standards. Arrange for test samples to be sent to accredited test labs.

Secondary duties:

  • Create system(s) for documenting and managing evidence of compliance to new regulatory initiatives for restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS) and product end-of-life producer responsibilities (waste/recycling/disposal) that have been appearing in the last few years.
  • Assist with foreign country safety approvals process and US and foreign energy efficiency regulation approvals process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

  1. Knowledge/Experience:
    • Prefer individual with at least 3-5 years experience in product design or testing or agency approvals.
    • Knowledge of basic electrical circuitry design and mechanical principals.
    • Prefer individual with knowledge of our Alliance Laundry System manufactured products.
  2. Skills and Abilities:
    • Proficient in using Personal Computer w/ software of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Demonstrated technical report writing skills.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Self-starter, who with knowledge of the project input and goal, can run with project to a successful, uneventful, and timely completion.
    • Able to handle multiple-projects over an extended period of time.
  3. Education:
    • Bachelor of Science Degree required. Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  4. Physical Requirements:
    • Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
