Graphic Designer

We have an excellent opportunity for a Graphic Designer in our Engineering division.

Purpose:

This position develops line-art/colored illustrations for the following:

  • Control Panels (Aluminum)
  • Energy Labels
  • Instruction Labels/Overlays
  • Labels (Danger, Warning, Caution, Notice, Installation, Instructional)
  • Control Overlays (Polycarbonate)
  • Serial Plates
  • Signs (For the Plant, Engineering Test Labs, Main Lobby & H.R.

Position Responsibilities:

Primary duties

  • Graphic Design
  • Work with Sales & Marketing on graphic concepts.
  • Create concepts of machines (future products or for customer consideration)
  • Create concepts of controls, decorations and name plates.
  • Create final art after Marketing approval (art and adhesive application).
  • Create drawings for vendor quoting and production.
  • Create and maintain Label Application drawings
  • Create and maintain 'Product Engineering Information Center' web site
  • Make prototype parts for fit, and function and Marketing/Sales review.
  • Supply 'short' parts to production or RSPC from the graphics stock library.
  • Make parts for production when requested (labels & instructions).
  • Photograph various items to use in drawings or upon request.
  • Read production drawing prints so assured fits (graphic to back panel) are made.
  • Perform FAI (First Article Inspection) on overlays/labels and control panels for production.
  • Work with internal and external print vendors
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Position Qualifications

  1. Knowledge/Experience:
    • Proficient in CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Web development software. Exceptional Windows, file managment and organizational skills
  2. Skills and Abilities:
    • Creative ability and imagination. Excellant layout and design skills and the ability to work in different styles as the projects dictate. Flexibility in making various changes to initial graphic designs. People skills a must as the individual will be working and communicationg with a multitude of individuals both internal and external.
  3. Education:
    • A degree in graphic arts and/or minimum four years experience in technical illustration and/or graphic deisgn. Portfolio which demonstrates artistic abilities and mastery of technical design tools.
  4. Physical Requirements:
    • Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and walking.
