E-Learning Specialist (Contract)

We have an excellent opportunity for an E-Learning Specialist (Contract) to join our team.

Purpose

The E-learning Specialist will develop instructional material by researching the web and interviewing content experts in order to create ALSU classes for internal and external customers.

Position Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:

  • Develop instructional material by researching the web and interviewing and collaborating with content experts such as sales, marketing, and product management
  • Write and edit content in PowerPoint
  • Determine graphics that supplement the content
  • Write script to accompany content
  • Design and develop support materials and skills evaluations
  • Follow documented process
  • Maintain and meet training schedules in consultation with departmental decision makers
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

  1. Knowledge/Experience:
    • Prior experience in an office setting is preferred
    • Recent experience with e-learning development, curriculum design, training methodologies, and online education
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint (experience with Articulate and/or Blackboard a plus)
  2. Skills and Abilities:
    • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Able to manage deadlines
    • Excellent written and verbal skills for the purpose of curriculum development
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on coaching/motivational skills
    • Able to conduct research into course development and delivery concepts
    • Able to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
    • Highly self-motivated and directed
    • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly
    • Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  3. Education:
    • Prefer college degree in Marketing, Journalism or similar degreed program
  4. Physical Requirements:
    • Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
