Desktop Administrator

Alliance Laundry Systems, headquartered in Ripon, WI is the largest manufacturer of commercial laundry equipment. We have an excellent opportunity for a Desktop Administrator to join our team.

Position Responsibilities:

Primary duties:

  • Installs and supports PC hardware, phone hardware, PC operating system software and PC software packages.
  • Assists users with PC and phone problems (hardware and software).
  • Orders and installs PC peripheral equipment.
  • Assists Network Manager with project management, resource planning and system monitoring and troubleshooting.

Secondary duties:

  • Develops and maintains documentation.
  • Continually searches for ways to improve processes or reduce costs.
  • Keeps up to date and assesses computer technology trends by maintaing affiliations with successful companies who practice effective desktop management, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional associations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  1. Knowledge/Experience:
    • Must have strong PC hardware/software knowledge; minimum 2 years PC troubleshooting experience.
    • Minimum 1 year experience with Windows XP Professional operating system.
  2. Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and establish effective working relationships.
    • Ability to effectively troubleshoot and strong problem solving skills.
    • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Strong service orientation and customer service skills.
  3. Education:
    • Two-year degree in networking, business or related field is required. A four-year degree in networking, business or related field is desirable.
  4. Physical Requirements:
    • Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and lifting to 40 lbs .
