Coordinator - Press Production

We have an excellent opportunity for a Coordinator - Press Production to join our team.

Purpose

Coordinate day to day activities within the support functions. Provide vital direction between shifts to ensure smooth operations on all shifts.

Position Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:

  • Ensure that employees are properly trained in the areas of equipment operation, quality policy, safety and housekeeping.
  • Interface with technical staff to ensure proper support.
  • Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating budgets.
  • Work to continuously improve processes and reduce inventories.
  • Discuss Employee relation issues with employees.
  • Interface with Union Stewards in contract and discipline issues.

Position Qualifications

  1. Knowledge/Experience:
    • A minimum of one to three years of experience in a medium/high volume manufacturing environment preferred.
    • Experience with mechanical and hydraulic press operations, as well as a basic understanding of die set-up and maintenance a plus.
    • Prior supervisory experience is strongly desired.
  2. Skills and Abilities:
    • This person must have a basic understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kanban and Lean manufacturing.
    • Proficient in MS office programs.
    • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Basic problem solving and troubleshooting ability, along with proven leadership capabilities.
    • Good interpersonal skills required to perform their duties.
  3. Education:
    • Qualified candidates should possess a two-year Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
    • A Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
  4. Physical Requirements:
    • Position involves standing, walking, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
