Commodity Manager

Alliance Laundry Systems, LLC is located in Ripon, Wisconsin, 20 minutes west of Oshkosh and Fond du Lac. We are currently seeking a Commodity Manager to join our team.

Under the direction of the Global Sourcing Director, the Commodity Manager is responsible for helping to develop and implement strategic commodity strategy through analysis of current spend, processes and practices, managing projects through completion, maintaining and monitoring assigned suppliers, procurement administration, supplier sourcing and overall support for the Global Sourcing Director.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Primary Duties:
    • Implements cost, delivery, and quality improvement programs in the procurement of raw materials and finished components.
    • Manages supplier development, sourcing, and relationships, and manages the contract administration for procurement.
    • Accountable to drive execution and implementation of assigned project(s) and programs for Procurement and provides routine updates to the organization on the progress and issues associated with product launches for projects assigned.
    • Accountable for ensuring that there are no unidentified technical issues from a supplier from a manufacturing capability and capacity perspective and that the supplier can meet all project or program schedules as a result of source selection.
    • Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors and timely communication.
    • Provide leadership within Procurement to drive timely activities to enable development of new or low performing suppliers.
    • Conducts research to indetify new sources, evaluate current suppliers, prepares reports and manages supplier relationships for assigned areas.
  • Secondary Duties:
    • Keeps up to date and assesses procurement trends by maintaining affiliations with successful companies who practice effective procurement management, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional associations.

Position Requirements:

  1. Knowledge/Experience:
    • Minimum of three years of experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Skills and Abilities:
    • Highly proficient in the use of Excel, extremely strong database skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong negotiation skills
    • Proficient investigation and research skills
    • Excellent material planning and inventory management skills
    • Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership and facilitation skills.
    • Experience working with global suppliers
    • Excellent project management skills are required.
  3. Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, operations management or related field required.
    • MBA, ISM or APICS certification preferred
